Starting a .lnk

Microsoft Windows xp home edition sp2b

Specs: Windows XP
I can start a shortcut out of a .bat file (start shortcut.lnk) but the settings of that shortcut don't work, like fullscreen in this case. What should I do to let my settings work? PS: the .bat file is in the same directory as the shortcut)

You can start the shorcut as you well know, but there is no way by batch commands to retain its properties as screen size or associated directory and characters settings. You have to set them by third party utilities or via vbscript.

actually, i think if you can dredge up an old copy of PIFEDIT.EXE, you can create a .pif file for the app, then start the icon as .pif instead of .lnk and it will behave according to the settings in the .pif file. I don't know how well this will work with other apps, i just ran it on CMD.EXE (START CMD.PIF) and it worked oldey (win 3.x) is 40k
(edit: wrong url, removed,)
ps: you might have to run it on a pre-xp machine and copy the .pif onto xp. when i ran pifedit on xp it did not give me the full-screen option. huh, go figure
