Solved? I don't see where the OP is solved...just banter.

Specs: Windows 10
Why is this marked solved? Don't know why one has to type 100 characters to pose a question. I can run Revo Uninstaller on Junk Files Cleaner and there are all sorts of Font Cache files that will not delete and they seem to be growing by the month.

I have no idea which topic you're talking about, but topics are marked solved when the asker decides their problem has been solved.

I was replying to a post (don't know why it wasn't cited) there was an issue of fontcache's (.dat files) not being either removed or deleted that were causing the OP to have partition issues as those files where causing a hang up in defragging an or remaining embedded in the partition so as to not let the disk shrink up or place files in a contiguous manner. What got me was ideas where bantered about but no real clarification came forth as I was having the same issue an opened the link as it was marked 'solved' when in reality it wasn't it was 'discussed'.

Well, like I said, it's up to the guy who asked the question to decide if his question was answered satisfactorily, and if so, who did it.

That said, are you running an RDP/Citrix server or something? If so, you really should put the box in maintenance mode and reboot before you start your work.

Otherwise, have you tested to see if the applications you're running benefit from the font cache service? If not, just stop and disable the service.

The OP may have resolved the issue on their own and didn't need or want further discussion.

The requirement for 100 characters is to encourage fully describing the issue instead of the little one line questions that usually can't be answered. I don't know how effective it is.

thanks Razor2.3.....VistaForums (aka SevenForums,EightForums an TenForums) had a .bat file to run that reset those caches. In REVO Uninstaller when looking at files after a junk file scan it has in the context menu when you right click on it to 'google' whatever it is you're looking at an it led me to Brink's fix...
