Solved SET /A 'Missing Operand' Error

June 6, 2012 at 09:50:17
Specs: Windows XP
My script is:

SET /A G =
pause

every time I try to run this ( it is only part of a script ), it says in the CMD window 'Missing Operand' :

Missing Operand
Press any key to continue...

does anyone know what is wrong with this?!

You're missing an operand, apparently.

✔ Best Answer
IF you were trying to ask for a user entered variable try
SET /P G="PLEASE ENTER YOUR ENTRY :"
SET /A G=%G%

IF you are not trying to do a user entry and instead are deleting a variable try
(set G=) theoretically this removes the odds of a trailing space.

spaces make a difference.
