please tell me how to read a binary file in c

Specs: Windows 7
i want to read a binary file,and truly its a details of a table created by sql,soo i want to read that file and get the each filed details in the table..please if any one can give me a sample source immediately...i am confused...

ya..i checked that thanks...but the thing i cant get is that in the binary file there are different fields data of a table,and soo i hv to separate them each and display,,please tl me a method to do that pleaseeeee....

You have to understand the structure of the file that you are trying to read to do that. If it's an SQL table you should use the program that created it to read the file; otherwise it's just guesswork.

but truely i dont have the program which used to create that binary file.but i hav the binary file,i want to do is read that file and get each fields names,each data types.
all those data is read in a binary file(its a .frm file)sooo please guide me to do this ....pls

Thanks ijack,but the thing is i want to code in c to do this,means read a.frm binary data,and display each fields description in the console,hw can i do this..

If you don't want to do it the easy way then you have to get an understanding of the internal structure of a .frm file. The source code for MySQL is publically available so study it to understand that structure, then you'll be able to write your C program. Good luck!

Personally, I'd do it the easy way.
