Password in '*' format in Dos

Specs: Windows 2000, 4 GB
I wana to change password look format to '*' in Dos. As when i insert password in Dos prompt it looks like (Password12), i want it to look like (**********) format in Dos.

If you mean put * on screen instead of the chars typed, I think you're out of luck with Dos [sic].

if you have Python on windows, you can use the getpass module. although it don't print *, its more than enough to not show any text on screen.
import getpass
password = getpass.getpass("Enter password:")
print password

To use it,

for /F %%a in ('getpass.exe') do (
 echo %%a
)
