Hello all,im trying to write a batch file to search files in a folder and then search for text within those results.Any help would be great.

What file are you looking for?
What is it you are looking for in the text?
Can you provide an example of the text you will be searching?
What do you want to do once you found it?

findstr /c:"looking for this text" c:\work\*.*

thanks for the response,im searching for *.dat files containing a string like 10025168.there are two different dat files,if i just the find command i get too many searching the specific dat file only then searching only those results is what im looking for.thanks again
