Hi,

I'm quite newby at scripting, but I'd like to make a script that sends/pings (or anything better) a list of XML addresses to another list of URL addresses.

I've looked around and tried a few things but nothing works... :(

I'm using the gnome terminal and gedit.. (OpenSuse12.x)

You need to explain exactly what it is you are trying to achieve.

Ping has limited uses. All it does is confirm that the remote URL is on-line and available. Useful but not the ultimate in network communications.

Hi Stuart,

Thanks a lot for a quick answer, and wish you a great and happy new year.

I aim to create a program based on two text lists and a script:

1 list with my blogs and websites URLs' and if possible their respective XML feed-burner addresses.

the other list with addresses from directories, agregators and search engines.

I need a script that submits the updates of the 1st list to the 2nd.

***

I found a few scripts that allows me to ping all URLs' of the 2nd (+3000).
I found another that sends data like Username and Password so I can log in to multiple websites, but doesn't allow me to send any supplementary data and get's send back by some "captcha" image.

IO tried many other combinations but didn't get any near the wished result, can you help me on this???

Thx again

That sentence alone suggest to me that you attempting to do something a little underhanded. Therefore you will get no help hear.

What do you mean by underhanded?

I just want to create a program that allows me to submit my updates from my pages to directories.

Unfortunately, there are some websites (e.g. Google, Social Websites) that need a Log in which I want to provide.

I don't intend to make any immoral black hat stuff. I just want to promote my web-pages rightfully, and there free programs for windows that allow me to do this, but used within the wine emulator, they crash because of the .net2.0 missing...

I hope you can provide any help or clues and that I could clarify what are my intentions...

I just want to promote my web-pages rightfully,

You mean Spam everything in site. The captcha images you mention were designed to specifically prevent the type of thing you are attempting to do.
