Been mucking around in VirtualBox lately, and I've been using mostly XP in it and also trying to kill XP for fun.

What I would like to create: A program that displays a written message, either in an information, caution or error windows XP popup box. What the program is supposed to do, is a series of batch programs run a sequence of mkdir and file copy events from an install folder (say, on D:\ drive), and then I want it to display an info box or etc that says ' Files have been copied, install complete!' or some other string like that. Note that I've already completed the batch scripting, I just need the message box displayed.

C++, Java, I don't really care.

The people that I'm distributing this to are slightly less than computer literate, and I need something that at least looks legitimately Windows instead of "virus-ey" as they put it.
