Install Program from Cd on to Linux

I want to install quickbooks 2008 on my eeepc900 iand its reading from an external cd/dvd reader i see the file with all its components but how can i get it to run??? it keeps tell in me cannot run autorun.inf ?? please help

Yeah... the Quickbooks CD you have is for Windows. You can't install that in Linux (without going through some WINE or Virtualization process).

There has been moderate success with Wine (http://appdb.winehq.org/) but not all versions of QuickBooks work. That site will help with getting, installing, and configuring Wine.

Or you could install virtualbox (http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads) and run a Windows Virtual machine. You will need a Windows installation disk and a valid licence key. Additionally, it may need more system resources than your EEE can provide.

Finally, you might want to just install QuickBooks on an internet connected Windows PC, then use a remote connection software (VNC) to remote control that computer from your EEE.
