There is no way to control mouse in batch script since batch is limited to textual input/output and mouse is a device to interact with graphical user interface (GUI) that is unknown to batch.

How would you put a mouse in a program that runs in the command prompt then?

Learn C. Learn C and hope the user doesn't have the QuickEdit feature enabled.

Alternatively, you could realize you're trying to use GUI elements in a non-GUI format, and pick a different script language. HTAs used to be a safe choice, but each version of Internet Explorer has a different security model, so it might or might not do what you want.

@Razor2.3

Does plain C have mouse input functions or are you referring to Windows API functions?

I ask because QuickEdit can easily be turned off with the API function SetConsoleMode with the flags "ENABLE_MOUSE_INPUT | ENABLE_EXTENDED_FLAGS".

First you learn the language, then you learn the dialect.

But yes, a program can disable QuickEdit; I just don't like it when programs up and change settings on me.
