Hello techeeeeeez,

How do you make a visual basic program that workes for 30 days but then expires? Like a trial! Yeah.... a trial..... Anyway, can someone PLZ make me a video on how to do this? Looked this up on tons on search engines, nothing had it. I do appreciate text help, but I really want a video this time. (Hint: use camstudio, Click here!)

I've done this before (It was actually 20 days but the time is totally up to the developer). There are of course different ways to accomplish this, I am only pointing out some of the key elements in the way I went about doing it here. It's up to you as a programmer to determine how your "trial scheme" will operate.

* At install establish a hidden file or registry entry containing the current date, amount of days left on the program as well as a checksum verifying that amount as authentic.
* Every time the program launches do the following:
1. Check stored date/time and checksum for tampering, if missing or tampered
then fail to load until registered
2. If current date is newer than stored date (days have elapsed) then subtract
days from stored days and record back new data...if out then fail to load.
3. If date is older than recorded date then write "fail" data and refuse to
load until registered
4. If date is same as recorded date and time is older than recorded time then
write "fail" data and refuse to load until registered
