How do you create a program

Specs: Windows XP, Pentium 4
How do you basicly create a program ? And how do you program it to execute certain commands?
Do you use another program that you download?
Or do you use an application in Windows?
If you download a program what program is it ? Are you shure it isn't a virus? And could you give me a link to the web page the program is hosted on?

If it is a application in Windows then, what is the name of the application and what is the exact file path?

It depends on your intentions. What type of program are you interested in making?

I use notepad to create batch files and html (web pages).
Autoplay media studio to create bootable cd's and dvd's for disk to make menus for installing programs.

If you post what you want the program to do, I am sure you will get a perfect answer.

A virus.....well before you start downloading anything off the internet you need a good anti.virus.

How do you create a program and make it beable to execute like a normal program you download?

For Example, to write a program like Xfire .

Would you know how to make a program that downloads its files , installs them, runs, just like a program you can download on the internet.

In other words what exactly do I need to type in my compiler for the program to :Download or install itself(Setup.exe) And then run.

Pick up a good beginner's programming book. At this stage, language doesn't matter, so long as you can get it running on your environment. The first step should be learning how to think like a programmer. Practical application can come latter.

Python's a popular choice for beginning programmers, but any high-level language should suffice. Stay away from the more esoteric languages and the low to mid level languages like C and C++.
