Solved How can I echo the word 'echo'?

November 18, 2014 at 18:48:59
Specs: Windows 7
As in echo echo 1234

I have tried using inverted commas but this then adds them into the output (> "echo 1234")
I want it to output (> echo 1234)

Can't be done. It's a command.

✔ Best Answer
For a regular batch file?

To get echo 1234 just type echo echo 1234

To get > echo 1234 type echo ^> echo 1234

Without using the caret symbol (^) the > symbol redirects the 1234 to a file named 'echo'.

Is that what you were asking? Other applications may differ.
