Help with this batch code

Specs: Windows XP
Dear all,
I put this code in a batch file to make my autoexec.bat file to run everytime my computer starts:

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"Autoexec"="%SystemDrive%\\Autoexec.bat"

I merge it, done very well, it is in the registry now but the problem is my autoexec.bat is still not running everytime i start windows.
please anyone help me with this?? how can i resolve this... thanks

Autoexec.bat is parsed every time your system is booted but commands apart from the Set command are not actioned.
