getting file attributes with a batch file

Specs: Windows XP
I am trying to write a batch file that will get the file name and date modified and place it into a delimited text file. Can anyone tell me how to do this please?

run it from a command shell..Replace %a with %%a if you wanna run it from a batch file
for /f %a in ('dir /b') do echo %~nxa , %~ta
