I'm working on creating an application where you can drag and drop different components around on a grid. What would be the best way to create a grid which has the ability to add a component to it and move it around to different cells within the grid. The testing I have done does not seem to run very smoothly. I created a custom control and dynamically added flow layout panels to it in a grid format. On the parent panel I have turned scroll bars on when scrolling the flow panels do not update very smoothly they are quite choppy. Is there a better way to do this?

Note: I want to be able to control the amount of columns and row.

Does your grid control have a disable function.

If so put a disable/enble command att he beginning and end of any functions that change the grid,

This will do the updates in memory and prevent the screen from being updated every time something changes and will only get updated when changes are complete.

I did not code that into it. I'm not sure if disabling the underlying panel will do that.
