Pass a variable from one form to another form's timer in VB?

I have one form which has a series of textboxes and a picturebox next to each.
When a button is clicked, the other form navigates to the appropriate page. But as this could have come from a number of textboxes, I have an "if" statement which creates a variable which will be the appropriate picturebox.
On this form I have it checking on the tick of the clock whether the webpage is busy and if so the picture is green otherwise the image on the other form should be black. But I cannot pass the picturebox variable from the other form to the timer

Create a Public Variable in the form you want to pass the variable to.

Variables created within a form are private to that form unless declared as public.

I can't as Hey is relative to the picturebox in user - Hence the use of "if" statements.

If i declare the variable publicly then it uses the same picture for all
not a picture box to each input box
