Before this gets too involved...

Does the printer print a test print OK?

Does it print OK from a usb connection?

And this is a discussion (Canon USA support site) about the situation as you describe; and offers a few possible solutions:

My new macOS Catalina does not support my old canon mg5220, as new Mac requires 64 bit application and old canon had 32 bit. Not cool, ..anybody got any ideas?

There may be a generic Gutenberg driver out there; but as my pixma mp600r went belly up at about the time I went over the High Sierra... (and had to replace it with another printer also a Canon), I never actually had a go with a generic for the mp6006r - which also wasn't Catalina compatible.

I think you're into a new printer...

The one you have may be OK with Linux and of course maybe ok with win-10; albeit in an emulation mode?
