cannot find file windows.h?

Specs: Windows XP, G4
Okay, a short background. I use to program in 68k assembly and dabbled in x86 assembly. I tried to learn C/C++ after that, but it never made any sense to me.

Well years later I have decided to give it another shot.. yet again. First time around trying to compile a basic blank windows app, I get this error message in bloodshed Dev C++

"cannot find file "windows.h""?

?!?!?!?

I would think all the files needed with a compiler would be included with it? Yes? So where exactly can I download this file? This is right from the bloodshed projects file from a blank windows, application window, their own code.

Thanks.

Nevermind, I found out that in order to program ANYTHING for windows, one needs the "windows XP SDK" which is 1.4gbs!....

Now I REALLY remember why I never programmed anything for windows.

And why wouldn't bloodshed include the needed files in the download? such a waste of time.

E:\Cpp\Dev-Cpp>dir windows.h /s /b
E:\Cpp\Dev-Cpp\include\windows.h
It's there. Check your Compiler Options. Make sure the include folder is included in the C(++) Includes tab.

My setup was the Dev-C++ 5beta(version 4 is not currently available, it redirects to the front page)

My default dir is c:\dev-cpp\

But there is no include folder to be found.

Thanks.

Try redownloading the version with libraries. Then, make sure you do the Full install. That should include Windows.h
