What you post has no meaning almost for me since a folder/directory is a container of files and files hold information in different format, e.g. text (txt), formatted documents (doc, rtf), movies (avi, mpeg), pictures (jpg, tif) or sound (midi, wav, mp3). Folders are like buildings hosting flats, offices and stores.
You can not convert a superset into its parts and the opposite.
If you have a folder containing other folders and files, you can create a file that will recreate that folder and file structure. However it cannot be a text file. A file compression program like PKZIP can do it.
