Batch file to increase youtube video views.

Toshiba Satellite a200-st2041 notebook
January 25, 2010 at 18:54:26
Specs: windows vista, why does that matter?
i made a batch file that inreases youtube video views, it works ok except for 1 major issue-it keeps opening iexplorer maximized which is annoying, is there any way to make iexplorer run minimized or in the system tray?

here is my code:
@echo off
set /a viewcount1=0
set /a viewcount2=0
set /a viewcount3=0
:stage1
echo Hiiiiii (:
echo thanks for downloading youtubeviewhack V1.0
echo made by Adammm (:
echo just follow the instructions and type stop to stop the hack.
goto stage2
:stage2
set /p url= please enter video url (eg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83jH...
goto stage3
:stage3
cls
set /p speed= please select speed of hack 1~3 (copies of iexplorer open)
if speed==1 goto speed1
if speed==2 goto speed2
if speed==3 goto speed3
cls
:speed1
set /a viewcount1=%viewcount1% +1
start iexplore %url%
ping -n 30 localhost>nul 2>&1
taskkill /im iexplore.exe
goto speed1
:speed2
set /a viewcount2=%viewcount2% +2
start iexplore %url%
ping -n 1 localhost>nul 2>&1
start iexplore %url%
ping -n 30 localhost>nul 2>&1
taskkill /im iexplore.exe
goto speed2
:speed3
set /a viewcount3=%viewcount3% +3
start iexplore %url%
start iexplore %url%
start iexplore %url%
ping -n 30 localhost>nul 2>&1
taskkill /im iexplore.exe
goto speed3

-------------------------------------
end of code

so any ideas guys?
please dont steal my code as it took lots of effort (im only 15)
thanks in advance

please forgive me if this is already obvious to you, you seem
to have a pretty good handle on the programming and commands...
to see start options at cmd prompt:
start /?

start /m
for minimized,
start /r
for restored

i dunno how to make it go into systray, others in the forum might know.

i have already tried this but alas iexplorer still opens maximized.
thankyou for your reply.
does anybody else have any ideas?
also it can be a registry edit.

START /MIN IEXPLORE <URL> works fine for IE6. Check your IE addons. One of them is probably maximizing the window. If it IS an IE7/IE8 issue, your best bet would be to rewrite in a language that gives you better control over the windows, like VBScript.

2ND ATTEMPT:

@echo off
set /a viewcount1=0
set /a viewcount2=0
set /a viewcount3=0
:stage1
echo Hiiiiii (:
echo thanks for downloading youtubeviewhack V1.0
echo made by Adammm (:
echo just follow the instructions and type stop to stop the hack.
goto stage2
:stage2
set /p url= please enter video url (eg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83jH...
goto stage3
:stage3
cls
set /p speed= please select speed of hack 1~3 (copies of iexplorer open)
if speed==1 goto speed1
if speed==2 goto speed2
if speed==3 goto speed3
cls
:speed1
set /a viewcount1=%viewcount1% +1
start "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe -extoff"
ping -n 30 localhost>nul 2>&1
taskkill /im iexplore.exe
goto speed1
:speed2
set /a viewcount2=%viewcount2% +2
start "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe -extoff"
ping -n 1 localhost>nul 2>&1
start "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe -extoff"
ping -n 30 localhost>nul 2>&1
taskkill /im iexplore.exe
goto speed2
:speed3
set /a viewcount3=%viewcount3% +3
start "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe -extoff"
start "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe -extoff"
start "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe -extoff"
ping -n 30 localhost>nul 2>&1
taskkill /im iexplore.exe
goto speed3

-----------------------
end of script

now after i enter speed 1 (1 internet explorer open) it opens cmd instead of iexplorer and displays c:\users\adam\desktop\batchfiles
this is where i store it. the main cmd says 'the process iexplore.exe was not found' this is because internet explore is replaced with cmd :/
help please :)

All you're doing is opening an arbitrary number of IE windows and navigating to an arbitrary address, so yes. Most scripting languages should be able to do that.

Unless you mean taking your script as it currently exists and plugging it directly into another language. In which case no, you cannot.

start "" "iexplore -extoff"

Also, I notice you're not opening the URL there. Should probably fix that.

Adam, are you sure you made the call correct ?

I just tried, and it opens IE 6.0 in minimized manner:

start "blahblah" /MIN iexplore

i think it may work but for it to work for everyone ill have to set
iexplorer as the default browser, this should be easy with in a
batchfile...hopefully :/

here is what needs fixing:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command
the current value is set to c:\....\....\.....\...chrome.exe
ill just change it to iexplorer and see how we go
;)

MAJOR EDIT:
worked it out, i just had to change the value to ""
and it would automatically overwrite the other key. : )

Maybe do a bug report at Microsoft. After all, that is why we pay them to run Windows, no ?

It clearly states in START /? that it can open in minimized ...

It must be some third party thing hooked onto your IE; START /MIN works correctly on IE8 as well.
