Batch file to delete directories by date range

Specs: Windows XP
There are many directories in the folder D:\DMSBackUp2012\images say about 58585.I need to copy 1 by 1 to U: and delete all the directories. I was doing this deleting work using rmdir /s command.Now I need to copy all the directories at once to U: and delete at once.For this I need a batch file using for loop

Why can't you just copy everything to U: then delete everything from D:\DMSBackUp2012\images?

Or do you mean you only want to move all the files and then delete all the empty directories from D:? Explain what you need a little more.
