.bat to copy 1st 12 lines of txt to new file

Specs: DOS 6.22
Hi, I have a DOS based machine where I need to copy the 1st 12 lines of text from one file (file1.txt) into another file (result.txt).
Can anyone advise upon a simple method of achieving this... i have very basic dos skills and do not undersatand the %% stuff seen regularly in these sort of forums.

If you only have 1 file to do, then the simplest method is to edit the file and write the 12 lines to another file.

Thanks for your prompt reply - the problem is that the data within these lines of text will change - I want my customer to have visibility of these 12 lines but no more of the file so the newly created file containing just the 12 lines can be viewed at any time with its current content displayed.
