.Bat file for editing registry permissions

May 1, 2010 at 01:08:50
Specs: Windows XP

I want to create a single .bat file for editing user\group permissions on few registry values and few files.

Please suggest a simple way instead of using the utility called regini.exe. As regini requires a separate script file to run and that script file should be saved on the specific location or we need to give the full path of that script file.

Just need to execute a single .bat file and all the require permission will be modified on registry values and the file mentioned in the in the batch file.

Please help me.

if you know the registry key, a clunky method is to export, then modify the text, then import:
req query "HKLM/..." > x.reg
then modify x.reg, using batch or an edit utility like sed or edlin,
reg import x.reg

there are better methods available through vbscript, but i'm not very good at vbscript.
