Hi All

I am trying to run a batch file to run a html menu from a folder on my USB drive and it seems to be failing, so I am looking for a little help if possible?

Autorun.inf code
[Autorun]
Open=usb\Portable apps\KompoZer 0.7.10\Projects\autorun.bat
Action=Start autorun.bat

Batchfile location
I:\Portable apps\KompoZer 0.7.10\Projects

I need this autorun to work on every computer I plug into so I don't want to specify the drive letter if possible.

Many Thanks
Tor Fey

I'm not up to speed on autorun, but the spaces in the paths seem like a bad plan.

I'm guessing.
Open="I:\Portable apps\KompoZer 0.7.10\Projects\autorun.bat"

You might need to use SHELLEXECUTE instead of OPEN, as well. Also, Windows disables autorun.inf parsing on USB to increasing degrees in the newer versions.

Hi thanks for the help :@)

If i construct the autorun file as follows: -

[Autorun]
SHELLEXECUTE=usb\Portable apps\KompoZer 0.7.10\Projects\autorun.bat
Action=Start autorun.bat

Would this eliminate the need for a drive letter when launching? for example the computer i have my USB plugged in to now makes it "I" but on another machine it could be "E"

Many Thanks
Graeme

The script runs in relation to the root of the drive, so you can (and should) exclude the drive letter from the path.
