I have my program that I built with Visual C# 2005 Express, on my computer where I built the program I can go in the folder under Release and Execute the Program it works fine and is not installed on my computer. Now in order to get it to work on another computer with .net Framework 2.0 already installed, I go in that same folder I copied over containing my project folder with all the files click on the release version of my Application it doesn't work. I go to the published folder install the program and it works on the other Computer but not if it isn't installed which brings me back to the point it is not installed on my computer but it still works, so why can't it run on another XP with .Net 2.0 installed Computer, I think it is suppose to work in theory.

I am just wondering how does it work on my Computer with out being installed and not on the other. So what is it that my computer has that the other one doesn't. Does anyone know..

If you are taking a project file to a machine that has VS, you are fine.

Otherwise, you need to "publish" your project. :) You can install from a zipped folder or cd/dvd. I choose the cd/dvd method. Do not forget that when you publish you will need to have the installation check for components, like .net updates, and so forth and install them prior to the install of your program.

I'm learning.
