Palm M515 not working after replacing battery

Specs: Macintosh OS 10.6.5
Also replaced the OEM charger base with a direct to USB port charger cable. No response. No lights, No screen. Not recognized by Mac. Soft and hard resets useless. Is it trash can item?

Check that you soldered the cables correctly. While this is dangerous (to your little computer), find non-conductive gloves or a pad, and see if you can twiddle the cables, while seeing if you can get any power to the motherboard.

If the cables are soldered correctly and the battery is seated correctly, and you have verified this, then you need to plug in the Palm to the wall. Hard reset the Palm, and wait for about 16 hours. After this process, soft reset, and try to hard reset, if the soft reset brings no results.

If the Palm refuses to respond after the method described above (which I have personally used to repair dead Palm computers), then you probably shorted a component of the Palm, and need to replace the main board, or wish it farewell and recycle it.
