|All addresses within a process are virtual addresses unique to the process. Those addresses have "real" addresses in main memory when within the active working set of memory. In order to "map" the process address to a real memory address, there are page tables that translate the addresses. Each address translation has an entry into a table called the Page Table. Each entry is a Page Table Entry (PTE). The message you have listed indicates that the PTE is not valid. There are bits within the entry that indicate the page type etc. There are checks in place to insure that one process does not trample another due to translation errors. There is something wrong here. Due to the critical nature of the table entries, any detection of problems here will cause a crash to prevent any problems.|
