I have created a spreadsheet to track monthly financials

My problem is the YTD column calculating...I have set up a column (d9)
for monthly revenue and a column (e9) for the YTD revenue...I don't
want to create columns for each month but just want to be able to type
in the new month revenue number and then have the YTD do its
calculation...Is this doable?

It's probably doable, but we'd need some more info.

Perhaps if you let us know what formulae you are using for the various calculations we could help.

If you only enter the new month's revenue, without a column for each month's data, how does the the Year to date get the previous months values, to add to the current month?

You could get the YTD to hold the total each month and then add the new month to it, but it's probably going to need a macro to do it.

Having a column for each month is a lot easier, and makes error checking easier later on.

You can always hide the columns for prior months if you only want to have one month in view.
