Word 2010 stops working but never gives me a solution.

Dell / Inspiron n7110

Specs: Windows 7, 4 GB
When I close different programs in Microsoft Word 2010 it tells me it has stopped working and Windows is collectiong a solution for the problem.

Then it gives me another window saying a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

When it does close the program it automatically reopens Word.

All this take time and yet it never gives me a solution.

Can you help me?

Have you tried a Diagnostic?
This is for 2007, but I believe 2010 is similar:

Running Microsoft Office Diagnostics from within Excel/Word

Click the Microsoft Office button
Click on the Excel/Word Options button to bring up the Excel Options dialog box (at the bottom of window)
Click on the Resources button in the left hand pane
Click on the Diagnose button in the right hand pane
Click Continue
Click Run Diagnostics

Running Microsoft Office Diagnostics from the Start Menu

Click on the Start button
Click All Programs
Click Microsoft Office folder
Click Microsoft Office Tools
Click Microsoft Office Diagnostics
Click Continue
Click Run Diagnostics

Word 2010 appears to be different from 2007. None of the instructions you cited would work on 2010. Thanks for the suggestion.

Have you tried a Repair:

Go to Start
Control Panel
Program & Features (That's the old Add Programs)
Select MS program, but DO NOT double click, simply select it.
On the Task Bar near the top you should be given the option to Repair.

You have to choose "Microsoft Office 2010". When you do you'll see an option at the tops that says "Change" and the dialog box that appears will give you an option to "Repair". I'm doing it right now so I don't know whether or not it will work yet.
