I have a long document about 8 pages long. Once I reach the bottom of the 8th page, the text/page starts to flash. This is not an animation effect as animation is turned off. Please I need help on this! Thanks!

I have no idea why your page is flashing, but two suggestions:

Run Detect & Repair,
On the Task Bar
Detect & Repair

Copy the flashing document into a new document, but do not include the last paragraph mark.

To display your paragraph markers,
On the Task Bar
The paragraph marker looks like a backwards P click on it.
This will show the paragraph markers at the end of each paragraph.

Highlight the paragraph marker at the end of the paragraph you suspect to be corrupt and delete it.

A large fraction of document corruption is stored in the final paragraph marker in a document.
Sometimes just copying it into a new document, leaving the final paragraph marker behind, will fix it.
