Solved Why has FindFast.exe stopped working

September 27, 2017 at 10:16:59
Specs: Windows 7 home, Intel Pent., cpu g630, 4.00 GB, 64 bit
For the past few weeks when I finish booting up, a box comes up which states that FindFast.exe has stopped working.

Clicking in fixing it in the box does nothing.

I went thru Google fixes and got no solution. I downloaded SmartPC Fixer but there is a charge to fix the problems it found. I have also downloaded the latest fixes from Msft to no avail.

I don't see it listed in msconfig either.

"I downloaded SmartPC Fixer"

Why would you do such a thing? They should have named it "PC Poison". It's scam-ware. The 1st thing you need to do it uninstall it & then download/install/run the following list of programs to clear out any infections.

AdwCleaner: https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcle...

Junkware Removal Tool: https://www.malwarebytes.com/junkwa...

CCleaner-Slim: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/b...

Malwarebytes for Windows: https://www.malwarebytes.com/premium/

And if you don't have a decent anti-virus program, try BitDefender Free Edition: https://www.bitdefender.com/solutio...

BTW, FindFast is part of Microsoft Office. Did you install or uninstall Office recently?

I have uninstalled SmartPC Fixer.

I regularly run the software you mentioned.

I also run Microsoft Security Essentials, full scan. Today it found
Trojandownloader:JS/Nemucod and
SupportScam:JS/techBrolo.F

and I have not done anything with Office.

Thanks for responding, I still have the box which states that FindFast.exe has stopped working when the comp boots up.

✔ Best Answer
remove it with:

windowskey+R --> type msconfig [enter] --> click startup, set it to disabled, apply, reboot.

if this doesnt work its in the registry >.<

Simple solutions are often the best
