why does my conditional formatting get scrambled by a macro

Specs: Windows 10
i use CF to color code dates fields in Excel that are older than 30 days or are blank. i can copy the CF from one xls to another, but if i try to put it into a macro the formula goes from "Cell value less than = today()-30" to "=LEN(TRIM(E2))=0" I don't ever use the LEN F(x)! Help/Thx in advance!

While I'll certainly admit that that sounds really strange and while I'm even willing to go so far as to say that it's impossible, there is not much I can do without more info.

Can you post the macro for us to see? Can you explain your process in a little (maybe a lot) more detail?

With just the text in your post, there really isn't much that we can do.
