For a start, Word is not part of Windows 7, it is a separate program, often installed as part of Microsoft Office. Secondly, Word is a word processing package and although you can insert formulae it is not something that is normally set as a shortcut, & I don't believe there is a simple 'sum' formula anyway. If you are talking about Excel, which is part of Microsoft Office then the 'sum' icon is the Greek letter 'sigma' in its capitalised form

I only have Word 2003 running under Windows XP on the machine I am sitting at right now, so I can only offer assistance related to that configuration.

The AutoSum icon is located on the Tables and Borders toolbar.

View...Toolbars...Table and Borders

Click in the cell where you want the SUM to be placed and click the AutoSum icon.

If you search the Word Help files for SUM, you'll find a more detailed explanation on using the SUM formula in a Word table.
