Solved Vlookup + match help

Specs: Windows XP
I am trying to populate a column based on data available in different columns.

The forumla I came up with is as follows:
=IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP('By Item Analysis'!A:A,1,0))= A7,"Item Carried", "Item not available")

What I'm essentially trying to do is: based on the item number on each row (cell A7 on this example) in my current spreadsheet, check if there is a match on a different worksheet, and if there is populate the cell with "item carried", and if there is no match "populate with not carried". I'm checking the match based on item number on based spreadhseets. if the item number exist on both, then print yes, if it doesn't then print ont available.

Any suggestions on how to fix the current logic is much appreciated.

Without an example of how your data is actually set up, try something along the lines of:

=IF(ISERROR(MATCH(A7,Sheet2!A1:A32,0)),"Item NOT Carried","Item Carried")
