Specs: Windows XP
Is there a way to verify product registration? I pass the validation in WGA but am not sure if I registered the product back in 2007 when i bought it.

If it's a valid copy of the "product", call Microsoft.

Contrary to popular opinion, they don't bite.

Ok, Thanks, is that the only way? I am comfortable doing that however I was wondering if there was anything in the registry that showed that to be the case. I'm starting a new job and I have to show my employer that my copy of Office on my laptop has been registered.

I don't know where to look in the registry to see if the product is registered.

You might try asking that question in the XP forum, but be specific, e.g.

"Is there a registry entry that proofs that my copy of Microsoft Office is registered?"

If you ask just the generic question like you did in your OP, you'll likely get a generic answer such as mine.

How computer savvy is your boss? Would (s)he be able to recognize one registry entry from another? I'm not suggesting that you try to fool him/her, I'm just curious if showing them a registry entry would be proof enough for them.

Good luck on your new job!

Thanks for the response. I tried to use the registration wizard from Microsoft but it doesn't go anywhere. It looks like it may be disconnected or the link is broken. I did read that article and thought it would help however I'm curious what new purchases of Office Profesional 2003 would register now.

Did you try this:

How can I tell if my software has been activated?

Do the following:

* On the Help menu, click Activate Product.

If your software is activated, you will receive the following confirmation message:

The product has already been activated.

I tried to use the registration wizard from Microsoft but it doesn't go anywhere.

Did you follow the link provided, to the Knowledge Base article?

It supplies several methods to try and get it to work.

Yes I did, thanks for the suggestion. I'll likely call Microsoft and see what they say. I guess I'm curious as to how someone can ask you to prove registration of a software product outside of a simple activation message or verification web page. Thanks,
