We might be able to help you if we knew what application you are having a problem with.

You also didn't tell us what error was produced.

We really need a lot more detail than you have provided.

Hi,

While saving the main workbook ABC, it is giving error as the workbook is in read-only and asking to "save as". I did so.
now I have 2 workbooks 1 with ABC and other with ABC1.
Links are in ABC1(created using save as) workbook, but the link is taking me to the ABC workbook.

You still haven't told us what application you are using, but since you used the term "workbook" I guess we'll just have to assume that you are using Excel.

What does it say in the formula bar when you click in the cell with the link?

Does is it show the full path back to the closed ABC file?
