I'm trying to work out the next Thursday from todays date, but then the Thursday 2 weeks ahead. In the following sequence whatever todays date is the answer should always return the next date... i.e. If Today = 1 Sept then 2wks Thursday would be 15 Sept. And if Today = 9 Sept answer should still be 15 Sept. But if Today = 16 Sept answer should be 29 Sept and so on.

01/09/2011

15/09/2011

29/09/2011

13/10/2011

27/10/2011

10/11/2011

24/11/2011

08/12/2011

and so on.Sorry if I haven't explained it well but hopefully someone can make sense of it.

Thanks.

I'm confused... You say that you want

"to work out the next Thursday from today's date", but I don't see"next Thursday's"date in your list.Shouldn't the first date after 01/09/2011 be 08/09/2011 since that's the

"next Thursday"?

I did say I might not have explained it well, that's why I included the list to illustrate the required answers. Assuming the first date is 1st Sept then the next answer would be 15th. You could take any date *in that list* to begin but the next answer would be the following date.

If today was anywhere between 1 Sept & 14 Sept, answer would be 15th. If today was anywhere between 16 Sept & 28th Sept answer would be 29th and so on.

I know I could simply use a list by adding 14 to the previous date but that wouldn't allow for a "today" in between those listed dates.

re: "If today was anywhere between 1 Sept & 14 Sept, answer would be 15th. If today was anywhere between 16 Sept & 28th Sept answer would be 29th"What happens if "today" is

15 Sept?

In that case answer would also be 15th. Sorry I didn't make it clear. Knowing what I need and explaining it aren't always as easy as each other ;)
