If you are not having problems with other Word files,
then it is probably just the one file that is corrupt.

I have tried this to no avail. When it opens in word pad/notepad half of the text is missing and there is a lot of binary and other random text. But thank you for replying

Hi jessmc,

Thank you for the reply.

Uninstalling and re-installing the application may fix the issue.

Do you have the disk for the application?

Thanks & Regards

Before you go to the trouble of an Uninstall/Reinstall, try doing
a Detect & Repair:

On the Task Bar
Select Help
Select Detect & Repair

Also, in the Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel
you should be offered the option to Repair.

How are you trying to open it? Are you in Windows Explorer and double-clicking the filename? Or, are you trying to open it from within Word's file history?
