santo11In between i have empty cells too...

All i want is to copy data from multiples of 7 cells(like 7'th, 14'th, 21'th , 28'th..........cells) from this column and paste it in another column........pls help

I'm not sure how the mention of the empty cells is relevant here. You might have to explain that further. In any case, if you want to "copy" Rows 7, 14, 21, etc. Enter this formula in Row 1 of any column:

=INDIRECT("A"&ROW()*7)

This assumes your original data is in Column A. Adjust as required.

In Row 1, Row()*7 will evaluate to 1*7 or =A7, in Row 2 this will evaluate to

2 * 7 or =A14, etc.Look up the INDIRECT and ROW functions in Excel Help to see how they work.

Don't know how to thank you, I was struggling from few days to get this, this information really helps me a lot. Once again Thanx a lot Sir:-)

And this formula works even if there is empty cells inbetween..........

Juz a few secs back i registered to this website and posted the my query, get solved within secs, thanx for http://www.computing.net/ ,

long live http://www.computing.net/ :-)

Glad to have been of assistance.
