Hi There,

I'm trying to write a formula in excel that will move dates forward in line with a required schedule.

for example

1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month as well as the last business day of the month and
14th of each month as well as the last business day of the month.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

re: "1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month"

Look here for a tip on how to find the 1st Tuesday of each month.

Modify the solution to find the 3rd Tuesday

re: "14th of each month "

Put 1/14/2011 in Excel and use this to get the 14th of every month:

=DATE(YEAR(A1),MONTH(A1)+1, DAY(A1))

re: "last business day of the month"

I don't see how Excel will know what is the last business day of your business month unless there is some sort of repeatable criteria that defines it. Perhaps we need some more details on that.

Hi there,

many thanks that was helpfull. On the subject of the last business day, it would simply be the last working day in that particular month i.e. 28th February or if the last business day fell on a weekend as it does in April the date would be Friday 29th rather than Sat 30th.

thanks again.
