# Rewriting a formula November 27, 2010 at 12:05:24
Specs: Windows Vista
Is there a way to write this formula but not to use max or min before?=IF(MAX(\$C\$1:\$C\$6)=C1,"Max",IF(MIN(\$C\$1:\$C\$6)Maybe something like this =if(\$C\$1:\$C\$6)max=C1,"IF(\$C\$1:\$C\$6)min. Im not sure if this would work but something where Max and Min would be after (\$C\$1:\$C\$6). Thank you. Hopefully im not to confusing. See More: Rewriting a formula

Before we even address your question about rewriting your formula, we should point out that the formula you posted isn't even a complete formula. Then, assuming you can fix your formula so that it actually works, I'd like you to tell us why you want to rewrite it.Posting Tip: Before posting Data or VBA Code, read this How-To.

This is the correct formula. Half of it didn't cope when I copied it.=IF(MAX(\$C\$1:\$C\$6)=C1,"Max",IF(MIN(\$C\$1:\$C\$6)=C1,"MIN",""))I want to rewrite it because there is a shorter way of writing this formula
