Retrieve old e-mails from Outlook 2003 from external HD?

Specs: Windows XP, 2 GB
Hi everyone,

my old HD (former master disk) contains all my old e-mail in Outlook 2003. It currently does not work anymore as the start-up HD, maybe missing or damaged boot records, not sure. I would like to retrieve my old e-mails either as copies or a pst file and transfer them to my new OS HD's Outlook or preferably a web-based e-mail management program (will gladly listen to any recommendations!)

Can this be done using it as a secondary/external HD? Is there a way I could boot up Windows XP from the disk, then access the old HD as the master? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You could use a USB to SATA/IDE adapter (less than $30) to connect the drive to another system. Then, just copy the pst file to your computer and add it to the Data files in Outlook. The location of the file/process for adding to Outlook differs depending on the version of Windows and the version of Outlook you're running on the new system.

Forgot one more thing: I would have to create a new PST File of the e-mails in the folders.
