I've recently installed Ubuntu inside of Windows and am trying to get a functional DVD player installed inside of it. I've downloaded Real Player and a few others but can't get any of them to work. I followed the directions included in the help section of Ubuntu, but it just isn't happening. I asked about the problem in a yahoo linux chat room and got a quick answer that went over my head. I'm new to linux and only understand a few of the commands so far. I need the solution typed out somewhere I can refer to it again and again until it works (like here :)
you have installed ubuntu which is a type of linux operating system you should not install any software which works in microsoft operating system.as linux has its own add ons for running every type of file..if they have not then you should reinstall that os using same cd's but optional upgrade
