I have a range of cells where I want to count all the cells with a score of "9" and "10". Currently my formula is COUNTIF(A1:E3,"9")+COUNTIF(A1:E3,"10"). Is there another function that I can use instead of adding the two COUNTIF?

First, you probably don't need the "" unless your data is text. Excel may ignore them, but they can be confusing. Try this:

=SUMPRODUCT(COUNTIF(A1:E3{9,10}))

How do you create that bracket that houses 9 and 10? I just searched it in Google and copied and pasted in my formula and it worked. Also, would you mind elaborating how that formula worked?
