Problems with Office

June 8, 2011 at 18:27:32
Specs: Windows Vista
After a system restore, microsoft word, excel, and powerpoint are not working. When I click on the icon, it says "This action is only valid for products currently installed." When I try to change it, "this product installation has been corrupted" I know that my system registry has severe damage and that my applications do as well. Any suggestions?

But how do I fix the registry problems? If I uninstall and reinstall, will that guarantee that there will be no further problems with the Microsoft products?

Of course not, but it's a start.

Uninstalling should, hopefully, purge your registry of any stray Office entries.
Reinstalling would hopefully correct any incorrect Office entries.

What version of Office are you running?
