hey everyone,
this may be a "dumb" question but i was wondering if it's possible to backup the entire microsoft office folder onto an external hard drive or online backup site before reformatting a laptop and then re-copy the backed up folder to the drive. i'm sending in my computer for servicing and i think they may have to reformat the hard drive. the problem is i dont have my Office installation CDs anymore and really can't afford to buy a new program. I have all my data backed up online but I didn't know if it's possible to back up an entire program. i'm thinking it's not since the registry keys and all would be affected as well once the system is reformatted. any help though would be appreciated

If you have a valid product key, contact MS and they will usually send replacement media at a nominal cost. About $10 last I heard.
