Outlook not saving my sent messages

Specs: Windows 7
I have recently installed Office to a new laptop. I'm using Windows 7.
My sent items are not being saved which is causing me issues. How do I save sent items so that they appear in a folder and I have a record of sent messages?

In Outlook:

Tools
Options
Preferences Tab
E-mail Options
Check the box that reads "Save copies of messages in Sent Items folder."
OK
OK
