March 3, 2017 at 07:39:53
Specs: Windows 8
Hello everyone.
Please help me out!

I have Outlook Express on Windows 8. It has worked fine for me, until today. Error message appeared: Error 0x800CCC79

This error appears after a moment every time I attempt to open .dbx format file.
What does this message mean? How to open dbx file?

Thanks.

OK, go through this process (including repair if necesary):
https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb...

I appreciate it happens without Send/Receive but it still might help.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

As often as not when you get Outlook Express errors they turn out to be the server playing up. You could try powering off your router for half a minute, otherwise try again later or contact your ISP.

0x800CCC79 is a send error - let us know if any message is returned.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Are the emails being returned after sending or does it just happen when you access them offline?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
