Solved Outlook express 6 not showing pictures

Specs: WindXP Professional, T8300 2.40ghz /2gb ram
I have reinstalled xp and outlook express 6 . I can't get some of my emails to show pictures.I have untticked the box (Block images & other external content in html ) but still have the problem.
Hope someone can help.

Do you mean pictures inserted into the text of the email rather than attachments?

Do you get any error message or box with a red X in it?

Can I assume you have shut down the computer and started it again.

Yes pictures inserted in the e-mail.
A red X in a box.
I have started the computer several times and the same happens every time. Some emails download the pictures but most don't.

Like many I am now a bit out of touch with Outlook Express. I'm not knocking it though - it did just what it said on the tin without all those ribbons and other silly gimmicks.

However, If you haven't updated to XP SP3 then do so as this can help various things on XP.

EDIT: The reason this is intermittent foxes me a bit. Makes me think it might be the bit about the type of link which is mentioned in the above. Have you tried sending yourself an email with an inserted picture?
